Corporate Technical Help Desk Representative

InMotion Hosting is seeking a self-motivated and team oriented Corporate Technical Help Desk Representative to join our team. The Corporate Technical Help Desk Representative will provide hands-on assistance to support the daily operations of InMotion Hosting while providing excellent service to internal customer service.

We were established in 2001 with offices currently located in Los Angeles, CA, Virginia Beach, VA, and Denver, CO. We provide shared, VPS, and dedicated hosting, as well as advanced technical services including web design and system administration.


What You’ll Do:

  • Administer end-user workstations and supports end-user activities
  • Set up and configure laptops and desktop systems
  • Create accounts for new hires and facilitates user access
  • Troubleshoot network, systems, and application issues to identify and correct malfunctions and operational difficulties
  • Help maintain internal company supported applications; software and systems such as
    • Login authentication
    • Windows 7, 10, and Server environments
    • Linux desktop environments
    • Asterisk phone systems and devices
    • Routers/switches/firewalls and other networking equipment
  • Ensure customer objectives are met and software and systems are operating properly
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to information being processed, stored, or accessed by the end-users on the network
  • Establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships with all associates across all departments and all sites

Ideal Candidates Have:

  • Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012/2016
  • Linux OS installations including but not limited to: RHEL (CentOS), Debian (Ubuntu, Mint)
  • Familiarity or basic conceptual awareness of SIP, VoIP, and related telecommunications.  
  • Microsoft Office and application troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with administering all aspects of Google’s “G Suite” components
  • Basic understanding of networking, routing, subnetting, VLANs, and similar network concepts
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Must be highly responsive, conscientious, self-motivated and team orientated
  • Strong communication skills; verbal and written
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems in an efficient and timely manner, while analyzing business needs
  • Exceptional customer focus, dedicated team player and strong professional acumen  
  • Ability to maintain discretion with sensitive company information


The below are not required skills but are a plus:

  • Knowledge of VMware ESXi 5.5/6/6.5 and OpenVZ 6/7
  • Knowledge of, or direct experience with, Asterisk, Digium systems, Sangoma/FreePBX systems, SIP protocols
  • Microsoft, VMware, SSCA, ITIL, and/or CompTIA certifications
  • Knowledge of web hosting technologies like cPanel and WHM
  • Experience with a scripting language such as BASH, Python or Perl
  • Help desk or call center experience
  • A few more things:
